Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD)

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) agency is governed by Chapter 20, Chapter 393, and Chapter 916 of the Florida Statutes.

APD assists individuals with developmental disabilities and their families by identifying and providing living, learning, working and community support, including social, medical, behavioral, residential and therapeutic services.

Who They Serve

APD serves more than 60,000 Floridians with the following disabilities:

  • People severely impaired by autism
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Spina bifida
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Down syndrome
  • Prader-Willi syndrome
  • Phelan-McDermid syndrome
  • Children age 3-5 who are at a high risk of a developmental disability

Guardianship Program of Miami

Official Partner

The Guardianship Program of Miami provides guardianship services to vulnerable adults who have been determined by the court to be incapacitated and who have no family or friends willing or able to serve as their guardian.

Ongoing support and management of client needs.

Advocacy
